Kommunikation med barn: Skapandet av en bilderbok : En litteraturundersökning om bilderboksriktlinjer samt tillverkning av en bilderbok

Many people believe that the analogue Picture book is a dying media due to the increase of digital media. Contrary to popular belief, the publishing of children?s book in Sweden is continually increasing, which makes mapping the field quite significant. But to regulate the creation of a children?s Picture book is problematic, because one does not want to impede the personal style of the writer or the illustrator of the children?s book.If the children?s book creator has an understanding of how to better communicate with children, the children?s book might have a grater impact on the child.

Bilderboken i förskolan En fokusgruppstudie av kanonprocessen

The aim of this masters thesis is to examine the Picture book canonization process in pre-schools. To succeed in this I have examined what pre-school staff believe to be the criteria of a good Picture book. Together with an observation of the pre-schools current collection, other factors which can influence the collection of the Picture book are included. This constitutes the foundation for a description of the pre-school Picture book canon. To pursue this goal, I have used the methodology of focus group interviews with staff from two pre-schools in a middle-sized town.

Genus i bilderboken : En analys av hur karaktärerna framställs i tre bilderböcker

The Picture book is the children's first contact with the world of literature. The aim of our study is to look at how children and adults are portrayed in the Picture book, from a gender perspective. Our aim is to critically examine how girls and boys, men and women are presented when it comes to both characteristics and appearance. Our research also focuses on how the text and images complete each other and we conduct a qualitative text and image analysis. We use Nikolajevas (2000) analytical model for Picture books and previous research that already exists within the subject. In our paper we have clarified the concepts related to gender: gender, gender roles, gender equality and the Picture book.

Teknik i bilderböcker

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to see how technology is presented in different fictional Picture books that are available in preschool. Six fictional Picture books that have connection to technology in picture and text have been analysed. In order to show how technology can be made visible in fictional Picture books, the relation between picture and text has been analysed through a technology perspective. Furthermore, the pictures and the texts have been analysed separately in order to show what they show respectively in terms of technology. The fictional Picture book has a potential to be a basis for making technology visible in preschool, which is a step in a new direction.

Konst eller pedagogik?: Nutida dagspresskritik av bilderböcker

The aim of this study is to examine views of Picture books for children that reviewers in Swedish daily press express in their reviews in 2009 and 2010. The following questions were posed in the study: Are Picture book reviews based on pedagogical criteria and/or aesthetic/literary criteria? Are Picture books reviewed from an adult perspective and/or from a child perspective? Which elements of positive and negative criticism are to be found in Picture book reviews? This qualitative study is based on 45 reviews of Picture books in Swedish daily press. "Kolla vad jag hittade!" Förskolebarns bilderbokssökning med samspel i fokus

The purpose of this study is to investigate how children search for and choose Picture books while visiting the library together in a preschool group. How do children interact with each other and their teacher while searching for Picture books? Which aspects of children's everyday lives are apparent in their choice of Picture books? The theoretical frame of reference consists of Brenda Dervin's sense-making approach to information seeking and William Corsaro's sociological approach to studying children's routine activities within a peer culture. To capture children's interaction, we have observed a preschool group consisting of six 3- to 5-year olds and their teacher in a library setting during three visits. Our study shows that children's search for Picture books is a social activity that involves various verbal and nonverbal strategies in order to include and exclude each other when they find a Picture book that interests them.

"Men där kommer en liten skitig lastbil med flaket fullt av lådor. Det är Mehmet som kör" : En kvalitativ textanalytisk undersökning om hur den etniska mångfalden skildras i nio bilderböcker från 2010

In Sweden exist a Swedish institute for children?s book which is a national information center. They have an annual "Book tasting" where they present statistics and trends from the latest publications of literature for youth and children. In their ?book tasting?? from 2010 a number of Picture books had, as they say, children who descend from non-Swedish culture (Swedish institute for children?s book, 2010). The aim of this thesis is to investigate how the ethnical diversity describes in these Picture books from 2010. To understand how the ethnical diversity describes in these books I had two questions which helped me in my research.

The purpose with this study has been to get a previous knowledge about how pre-school teachers look at the impact of the Picture book for children and their language development and participation at the age of three to five years. The study was carried through inquiries at a pre-school in a west Swedish urban district. The study proceed from the sociocultural theory which means that children learn by teamwork with other more experienced individuals. The result shows that the pre-school teachers consciously let the interest of the children guide the choice of books. At the same time they push for the meaning of conversation with the children.

Den omkastade hierarkin : Framställningen av barn och vuxna i tre bilderböcker från olika tidsperioder

The aim of the study is to show how children and adults are described in three Picture books, examining how children and adults are portrayed in text-and-picture narrative and how this has changed over time. We have analysed how the characters in the books are presented and how the representation of children and adults has changed in our own times. The material for the study consists of three Picture books from different periods, with the focus on how children and adults are described as the common point of departure. The analysed Picture books are: Tomtebobarnen (Beskow 1919), Aja baja, Alfons Åberg! (Bergström 1972) and Snäll (Dahle 2008).We have arrived at the conclusion that a text-and-picture narrative is in very large measure a reflection of the outlook on children, childhood and child rearing at the time when the book was published. The result shows that the greatest change that has happened is that parents? and adults? dominance in the books has declined over the years, and that children have been given a more prominent role.
